Experiencing a real oasis in Huacachina

After the beautiful and wild Paracas we went dipper in the desert arriving to Huacachina. Huacachina is a real desert oasis and the first that I m seeing ever. It is the only natural desert oasis and has the largest sand dunes in South America. How to get Public busses The public busses won’t take you directly to Huacachina. You will have buses almost from each town: from Lima, Cusco, Paracas but it will take only to Ica and from here take a taxi till the oasis. Of couse, it will be more difficult if you do the steps separately, but it will be cheaper. Bus from Lima to Ica is 10-15 usd taxi from Ica to Huacachina is 1 usd, entrance fee in Huacachina is 3 usd. PeruHop Is another option that we tried. The Peru bus took us from Paracas directly to Huacachina, and this was part of…

Going crazy with a “Mad Max” experience in Paracas desert

Paracas represents the coastal desert region famous for Ballestas Island and Paracas National Reserve. Paracas national Reserve is one of the biggest protected desert reserves in South America; desert and ocean. It covers more than 3,000 kilometers of which 65% of it is sea and 35% is dry land and islands. It is considered one of the richest and most uncommon ecosystems in the world, but the attraction is not only its wildlife but also the beauty of the ocean and desert landscapes. We spent a day and a night here and we had the chance to experience a glimpse of what it can offer. After lunch, we rented some buggies and we started our mad driving adventure in the desert. We drove for 10 min to the Paracas National Reserve from our hotel, paid an entrance fee and started discovering the desert along the Paracas coast which was thrilling. We…

Belogradchik fortress in Bulgaria

It was a spontaneous decision to take a road trip to Bulgaria before New Year’s eve. We entered Bulgaria from Ruse and drove for about 2 hours to our first stop: Prohodna Cave. And after that, another two hours to Belogradchik village, to see the famous rocks. However, we didn’t quite realize what an amazing destination we’d chosen. As we turned off the main road, bizarre rock formations started to appear and following the tourist signs was no longer needed as we drive through winding roads and closer to a mystical wonderland. Huge rocks colored in a mix of reds, oranges and yellows topple more than 200 meters high above and all around us. Spread over 30 kilometers in length and three kilometers wide, they dominate the scenery with their strange shapes. We were just blown away! Before we visited it , we had this idea that the rocks can only be seen inside…

Bioparc I A piece of Africa in Valencia

One of my favorite things in Valencia is the Bioparc. So with our recent visit in Valencia we couldn’t miss strolling among these amazing jewels of Africa. Normally I don’t visit zoos, because I don’t like the idea of animals to be kept in cages for our amusement, but this Bioparc in Valencia is different, so maybe this is the reason why I like it so much. It was opened in 2008 and the park is creating a very true and accurate reconstruction of Africa’s wild life. Located in the Valencian ‘Cabecera’ park this Zoo was created based on a new technique that tries to introduce people to the natural habits of the wild animals. The animals live here as they would live in the wild, in groups of the same species in the same natural habitat, which is separated by natural barriers of rocks, rivers and bridges. I love that Bioparc has respect for…

Stand up paddle boarding in Alanya

It was a chill morning, when I stepped on the wet, cold sand. The sky was cloudy between the clouds you could see the sun rising. The effect was spectacular. Rays of sunlight and an orange glow created a magical aura of celestial beauty around the horizon while the clouds above me blotted out the brightness of the sun. The sea was calm, it was just perfect for a morning Stand up paddle boarding, aka SUP. Basically, SUP uses a surf style board and a long paddle. In that regard, it is a cross between canoeing and surfing. It has its roots where all board sports have their beginnings, in Hawaii. Even if you’ve never tried it, many of you have probably seen stand-up paddle boarding, or SUP, over the past few years—it’s one of the fastest growing outdoor activities. Stand up paddling can be done in a variety of forms such as on flat…
